Meet the Team:

Bryce Shapley

Bryce has had a love affair with riding ever since tackling the Great Lake Cycle Challenge at the tender age of 12.  Taking him nearly 8 hours to complete.  The following year, Bryce was back and slashed his time almost in half.  From there, Bryce was addicted……and rode his way to representing New Zealand in National Teams and racing overseas in Canada and the USA.  Bryce stopped riding competitively in 2003, but has return to competition, in the National Age Group Road Champs.  Bryce’s passion for cycling has rubbed off on his daughters, Anna and Kate, who both love riding their bikes and participating in biking events.  This in turn has created a focus of the importance on family cycling, getting families active together!

Clay Guliver

ClayClay is 100% Rotorua born and bred….and has been a bike rider since he was a wee whipper snapper!  Clay enjoys both road and mountain biking along with other sports, including soccer and triathlon’s, representing New Zealand in both sprint and long distance international events.
When not working his mechanical brilliance in our workshop or sharing his product knowledge, you can find Clay fighting fires, as he is a Volunteer Fireman with the Ngongotaha Brigade!

Lance Tavinor

LanceLance grew up in the mighty Northland town of Whangarei… now lucky enough to call Rotorua as well as the Whakarewarewa Forest home!
Lance is more than happy to share his biking knowledge from sweet rides to even sweeter trails to the latest in accessories for both Road and Mountain.
When Lance is not ripping round the trails you’re more than likely to find him enjoying some time behind a drum kit or partaking in a bit of trail maintenance! (if you ride Katore Jumps you’re no doubt enjoying a bit of his handy work).

Mike Ritchie

mikeHe’s “brand new”, hailing all the way from the Scottish Highlands.  Mike came to New Zealand, discovered the weather was way better…….and now he’s here to stay.
Mike loves the trail riding in New Zealand, with Nelson and Wanaka being highlights for him.  But having Whakarewarewa Forest right on his doorstep being the main reason why he chose to settle in Rotorua.
In true Scottish fashion…..he’s partial l to a drink or two, along with having chats about bikes, accessories and sweet running trails.

Gillian Shapley

GillianActionGillian started riding in 2003, after deciding that she wanted to compete in Ironman, which she did, Taupo – 2004 and 2005. Gillian enjoys both Road Riding and Mountain Biking and spending time with her two girls, Anna and Kate, exploring the trails in the forest.
Gillian is also a physiotherapist, and believes wholeheartedly  in combining bike fit and set up with each individual, to make sure they are getting the most comfort and enjoyment out of their riding experience.

Philly Angus

PhillyPhilly started road riding, inspired by Sarah Ulmer winning gold at the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002.  Philly still road rides, participating in the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge, but has discovered mountain biking in the forest is where she’s at her happiest.  She enjoys the social side of riding, and loves seeing more women getting into the forest at all levels of trails.
Philly loves exploring rides around NZ, with the Queen Charlotte Track, the Lake Hawea Epic Ride,  Whirinaki and Pakahi Trails being highlights.
Philly is also Mum to Stella and Cooper, along with being a Marriage Celebrant.  She’s more than happy to talk about her riding experiences, along with the great range of Women Specific Bikes and Accessories in store.
