Rotorua, our home town

If you are into biking, then you have come to the right place.

Rotorua is a mecca for mountain and road bikers alike, offering hundreds of kilometres of outstanding mountain bike trails through forests and volcanic terrain, as well as wide open highways to get some road training (or races) under your belt.

Mountain biking in Rotorua gets you up close and personal with some of the most spectacular scenery you will find anywhere in the world – and most of it is only accessible on two wheels. There is also spectacular mountain biking all within a short drive from Rotorua, whether it’s at the volcanic Craters of the Moon in Taupo, the Whirinaki Forest with a variety of tracks through untouched native bush, Mt Ruapehu with alpine heli-biking, or coastal tracks in the Bay of Plenty.

If road tyres are more your thing, Rotorua offers wide open highways and a cycle-friendly city, and a number of great events every year that either start and finish in Rotorua, or end in some of the towns near by, including Bike the Lake and The 1ook Flyer.
